Members of the Kimberley SAPS took part in a multi-disciplinary compliance operation led by the Deputy Minister of Labour, Mr Ntuthuko Sibiya on 24 July 2025 in Kimberley.
The operation was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Labour, Department of Home Affairs, COGHSTA, the Northern Cape Liquor Board, and Sol Plaatje Municipality.
The operation focused on ensuring regulatory compliance at various business premises, including a Kimberley warehouse and a bottle store.
As a result of the inspections:
Four fines were issued to employers, totalling R30 000.
Seventeen (17) undocumented individuals were arrested and detained.
One liquor outlet was shutdown for non-compliance with relevant legislation.
These efforts form part of an ongoing initiative to enforce labour and immigration laws and promote lawful business operations in the region.
