During Operation Vala Umgodi, seven suspects, aged between 20 and 28 were arrested on 25 July 2025.
The suspects were apprehended by members from the Proactive and Combat team as they conducted stop-and-searches operation at Karino in Nelspruit.
During the operation, the suspects were arrested for failing to produce valid documentation to be in the country, and they were charged for Contravention of the Immigration Act of South Africa.
The Police are working in conjunction with officials from the department of Home Affairs to establish the status of the arrested suspects.
They are expected to appear at the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 28 July 2025, facing the said charges.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, has expressed his appreciation to the members for their relentless efforts.
