On Friday 25 July 2025 at 14:30, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Community Liaison Unit (CLU) Officers, arrested two (2) individuals that were wanted for house robbery in the Kwa-Thema area.
Following on information received about the whereabouts of suspects that committed house robbery in the area, Officers swiftly acted on the information. Upon arrival two (2) male suspects aged thirty (30) and thirty-one (31) years old, were successfully apprehended at a residence on Peu street.
They suspects were found in possession of a CZ pistol with a serial number that was obliterated, one(1) magazine with x5 9mm live ammunition, PX pistol and a magazine with x15 live 9mm, state issued ammunition, an appointment card, bank cards, medical aid cards and a pistol safe with magazine pouch and handcuff pouch. Some of the recovered items were stolen from a recent house robbery, belonging to a Police Officer.
The duo was immediately arrested and detained at Kwa-Thema police station, facing charges of house breaking and theft, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition and possession of suspected stolen property. They are both expected to appear before the Springs Magistrate’s Court soon.
