A couple has been killed and six others injured in a house fire on Midmar Road in Shallcross just after 06h30 on Tuesday morning.
ALS Paramedics Medical Services arrived on the scene to find the Ethekweni Fire Department already on the scene and fighting the blaze. Paramedics stoodby and assessed six occupants that had managed to escape from the residence and had sustained minor injuries. Paramedics were called to enter the house once the fire department had extinguished the fire and unfortunately a gruesome discovery of a couple believed to be in their late sixties that had suffered fatal injury as a result of the fire. Both persons, a male and female were declared deceased on the scene.
At this stage the cause if the fire are unknown however SAPS were in the scene and will be investigating further
