While on duty in Soweto, members of the Gauteng Traffic Police and Gauteng Traffic Wardens Central Essential Infrastructure Task Team responded to a Tracker SA callout regarding a vehicle that had been hijacked in Florida. Officers followed up on the information and recovered the vehicle in Meadowlands, Zone 6.
In a separate operation, officers received an alert from Cartrack about a hijacked truck on the N3 near Heidelberg Mall. The suspects had taken both the truck and its driver. Officers recovered the truck, and the driver was safely traced and found unharmed.
