Members of KZNVIP Together with multiple other Emergency Services were dispatched following reports of a house on fire in Fairdale, Newlands West, just after 20h30pm on 10 August 2025.
Upon arrival, KZNVIP response officers confirmed that the property in Fairdale was well alight and intervention by community members and first responders would primarily be to secure the scene till fire department arrived. The homeowners were not present at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire cannot be confirmed at this stage.
Fire departments’ prompt response to the scene resulted in preventing further damages and possible loss of life due to the severity of the incident. The fire was eventually extinguished with extensive damage noted.
Circumstances leading up to the fire cannot be confirmed at this time.
