The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) K9 unit Officers, in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies, conducted a school search at Etwatwa secondary school in the Wattville area.
EMPD K9 unit dogs visited the school to ensure that illicit substances and dangerous weapons are kept away from the school premises and their learners. During the search the K9 dogs uncovered illicit substances such as cigarettes, cannabis (dagga), crystal, and box of matches.
The EMPD commands partnership with other law enforcement agencies to ensure safety in the schools and wishes to encourage parents to make sure they check their children’s school bags every day.
