Operation Shanella II continues to intensify efforts to eradicate drugs in the Namakwa District.
Disruptive actions were conducted on the N7 highway between Springbok and Okiep, where a 33-year-old male suspect was arrested on Friday, 15 August 2025, for dealing in drugs.
The suspect was apprehended during a routine roadblock operation, where police discovered hydro dagga and magic mushrooms in his possession.
The estimated street value of the seized drugs is R98 775.00.
District Commissioner, Brigadier Schalk Andrews, commended the members for their diligent work and reaffirmed that the SAPS in the Namakwa District will continue to intensify efforts to dismantle criminal activities throughout the region.
