On Wednesday 20 August 2025 at 13:30, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Northern Region Task Team Officers, apprehended one (1) suspect in the Thembisa area.
Following on a tip off about a male suspect who is dealing with illegal substances at Temong section. Officers followed the information and proceeded to a residence, where a forty-six (46) year old male was found in the vicinity. A search was conducted and Officers discovered a bag containing mandrax tablets, with an estimated street value of R20 000 and cannabis (dagga) with an estimated street value of R4 000.
The suspect was immediately arrested and detained at the Thembisa Police Station, facing charges of possession of illegal substances. He is expected to appear at the Thembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.
