On 03 September 2025, an intelligence-driven operation was conducted in the Phoenix area by the Durban Metro Police Drug Team (SOD1) in collaboration with DPCI Port Shepstone and Counter Narcotics KZN.
A search warrant was executed at a known drug target, leading to the apprehension of a suspect linked to the notorious “Bloods” gang.

815 pieces of crack cocaine
Estimated street value: R81,500
