Sports injury

This evening, PVES was activated for a teenager who sustained a patellar (knee) injury while playing netball.
On arrival, our team found that first aiders on scene had already bandaged the knee. The patient was in severe pain, and after assessment, the decision was made to request an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance. PVES medics initiated intravenous pain management while awaiting the arrival of the ambulance for transport to hospital.
Thank you to the first aiders Black Eagle Emergency Medical Services and IER Integrated Emergency Response for their teamwork and quick action.
