*Synopsis*
On 2025/09/09 members of Verulam patrol Van NV20 and Verulam Crime prevention received information via car track that a HI-Jacked Quantum with reg ## ## ## – ZN was traveling towards the Verulam area with armed suspects and a a silver polo was being used as the lead m/v. The members immediately acted on the information and intercepted the Toyota Quantum along Vincent Dickinson Road. The silver polo suspects m/v fled upon noticing the police, as well as one suspect from inside the hi-jacked m/v. The team with assistance from Cartrack and local security agencies managed to subdue two suspects on the m/v recovering an unlicensed 9mm pistol with ammunition, as well as two victims inside the vehicle. The victims positively identified both suspects in the carjacking incident.
Whilst at Verulam saps processing the suspect information was received that the suspects escourt m/v was looking for the accomplices that escaped and was in the Verulam CBD area. The team quickly acted and pounced on the said silver polo, apprehending 1 x a/m and recovering a 20 channel signal jamming device, which the a/m failed to provide any explanation. The a/m was placed under arrest and items seized. At the station the suspect and the sliver polo was positively identified by the complainant in the kidnapping case.
As members were processing the suspect from the polo, at the Verulam saps, information was received that the suspect that had fled during the initial vehicle recovery and arrest, was at the same scene and seeking assistance to get back to Clermont area as he as unfamiliar to the area as well as a clothing description. The team operationalized the information and proceeded to the Canelands area on the lookout for the said suspect, after initially having no luck on locating the suspect the team turned and was enroute to verulam saps and spotted an a/m matching the description provide hastily crossing over the road holding his hand at the rear of his back. The members immediately stopped the police m/v and loudly announcing themselves instructing the a/m to ‘ *stop Police* ,’ which he ignored and quickly drew his firearm and fired at the team, which the members returned fire to subdue the suspect and secured the firearm. The firearm was made safe and was found to be a 9mm Vector pistol, serial number filed off, and 13 x 9mm ammunition. The suspect identified as T######## B##### sustained gunshots to the body. No members were injured. The suspect was detained at Verulam saps as per.
