A violent hijacking took place yesterday evening (Monday), in Ezimangweni, Inanda – KZN, leaving one man injured and a vehicle stolen.
At approximately 19:00, a family was ambushed on Shinga Lane shortly after being dropped off by their brother. According to witnesses, seven unidentified male suspects approached the parked vehicle and drew firearms, forcibly removing the victims from the car. During the confrontation, the suspects shot the driver before fleeing the scene in the silver-grey 2016 Toyota Yaris.
The vehicle, bearing registration number BV 05 WV ZN, features a black sunroof, standard rims, and was last known to be in pristine condition, with no dents. It had been recently fuelled with R600. Information received is that the car was seen in Amaouti – KZN following the incident. In addition to the vehicle, the suspects made off with three iPhones belonging to the victims.
