A suspect attempting to steal copper pipes was caught red handed on the roof of a property in Hannaford, Phoenix, on Monday afternoon, 29 September 2025.
KZNVIP Control Centre received information regarding a copper pipe theft in progress in the Hannaford area, just after 14h40 PM. The complainant kept visuals on the suspect and continously kept updating KZNVIP Control centre as the members were responding.
Upon arrival, KZNVIP Response Officers located the suspect on the roof. With the arrival of backup vehicles and the home surrounded, the suspect was quickly apprehended and several suspected stolen copper items were recovered in his possession.
The matter was handed over to Pheonix SAPS for further processing. We’ll done to all involved
