The North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Management MEC, Wessels Morweng congratulates learners who represented the province at the Road Safety Debate and Participatory Education Techniques (PET) competition.
Vryburg High, Malatse Motsepe Secondary, Kopanelo Secondary and Monchusi Secondary Schools participated in the annual contest in Pretoria this week.
MEC Morweng says the province is proud to have an exceptional team flying the provincial flag to the skies.
“I am delighted to recognise and celebrate the performance of our brilliant learners who carried the entire province on their back at the national competitions.
“The learners showcased their remarkable abilities with great passion, excellence and dedication. Even if they did not bring a trophy home by vertue of debating up to the national level makes them winners. As a province we are inspired by their unwavering commitment to embark on this journey, highlighting matters of road safety with clear and concise arguments and contributing to the broader social narrative alongside their counterparts from other provinces”, said MEC Morweng.
The competition, is a collaborative initiative coordinated by the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) targeting high school learners to debate and present issues relating to road safety.
In addition, through the competition learners demonstrate intensive research, persuasive abilities, and compelling arguments based on statistical data and real-life experiences.
