POLOKWANE – The Police in Apel have launched a manhunt for seven armed male suspects following two incidents of business robbery, attempted murder, and malicious damage to property that occurred on Friday, 10 October 2025, at around 20:30 in Strydkraal village, Sekhukhune District.
According to reports, the suspects – armed with firearms, stormed into a local tavern and robbed the cashier and patrons of an undisclosed amount of cash. They then proceeded to the cash office of an adjacent filling station, where they further robbed the cashier of cash.
In the course of the attack, the suspects also robbed the owner of a white Nissan NP200 bakkie, which they used to flee the scene. Before escaping, the suspects fired multiple shots, injuring two victims in their legs. Both victims were transported to a local healthcare facility for medical treatment.
During the shooting, two vehicles belonging to customers were damaged.
The police have since opened cases of two counts of business robbery, two counts of attempted murder, and two counts of malicious damage to property. A dedicated team of investigators has been assigned to track down the perpetrators and ensure they are brought to justice.
