WESTERN CAPE – Continued efforts to stabilise Cape Town communities of gun violence and to remove firearms from criminals who use it to commit violent crime yielded success early Saturday morning in Hanover Park.
Members of the Anti-Gang Unit deployed in the area received information of a firearm at a premises in Groenpoort Walk and operationalized the information. During the search of the premises the members found a .38 Special revolver with an assortment rounds of ammunition in the house. They arrested a 30-year-old male for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The suspect is due to make a court appearance in Athlone on Monday.
