WESTERN CAPE – An intelligence driven operation conducted by Anti-Gang Unit members led to the arrest of a 25-year-old male and the recovery of a firearm.
On Tuesday, 14 October 2025, intelligence information was operationalised which led the team to a house in Azalea Avenue, Uitsig in Ravensmead. The team conducted a search of the premises and recovered a firearm with seven rounds of ammunition. A 25-year-old male was arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
A tracing operation was conducted in the precinct, and the members proceeded to the nearby informal settlement and arrested a 22-year-old male affiliated to a local gang grouping on a Ravensmead attempted murder case.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court soon on the mentioned charges.
