The police in Mankweng, Capricorn district are seeking assistance from members of the community to assist in the apprehension of an unknown male suspect responsible for murder and attempted murder incidents that took place at a liquor outlet on Saturday, 06 December 2025 at about 01:10.
Police were busy with patrol duties when they received a complaint about a shooting incident at a liquor outlet at Ga-Magowa village and rushed to the area. On arrival, they found two male victims who had sustained gunshot wounds on the upper bodies.
The members of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were summoned and they declared a 31-year-old male victim dead on their arrival at the scene.
A 36-year-old male victim was taken to a local hospital to receive medical treatment. It is alleged that the two male victims were seated inside the yard when an unknown male suspect entered and suddenly shot them with a firearm and immediately fled the scene on foot afterward.
The motive of the incident is unknown at this stage and a manhunt of the unknown male suspect has been activated for his apprehension.
