Central Karoo Flying Squad members confiscated drugs with an estimated street value of R14 000, during crime prevention patrols on the N1, near Prince Albert.
On Sunday, 28 December 2025, at about 15:20, the members were deployed along the N1 near Prince Albert Road when they spotted a suspicious looking man. They immediately approached the man and proceeded with a search, when they found drugs in his possession. The members confiscated 58 mandrax tablets and by six bankies tik. Police arrested the man for his possession thereof.
The 28-year-old suspect is facing a charge of dealing in drugs. He remains in police custody and will appear in the Prince Albert Magistrates’ court once charged.
This arrest and confiscation form part of the strategic deployment of police on highways, byways and secondary roads leading to the Western Cape during the festive period.
