A crime-combating operation conducted by SAPS POP unit members in the Mitchells Plain area at around 01:00 on Wednesday, 27 May 2026, yielded positive results as members found and confiscated drugs in Silvermyn Street, Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain.
While members were conducting a stop-and-search operation, they received intelligence about drugs being sold at a certain residence in the area. Members swiftly operationalised the information and proceeded to the identified location, where upon arrival they searched the suspect’s house, resulting in the recovery of 20 units of heroin, 145 tik sachets, and 200 mandrax tablets.
As a result, a 30-year-old male suspect was apprehended for possession of drugs and will soon appear before the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court.
