Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in White River in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 05 June 2025, at approximately 00h36.
According to reports, Police received information about a shooting near a Rugby Club in White River. Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered that multiple individuals had sustained gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services certified one of the men deceased at the scene, while two others were transported to hospital for medical treatment.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation. A dedicated team, under the leadership of the Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, has been established to probe the matter further and determine the motive behind the shooting.
