A Black Mamba measuring 2.8 meters was captured at a home in Hilltop, Canelands – KZN this morning (Monday).
A female preparing for work noticed the reptile between metal roof sheeting. She thereafter contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) for assistance. Area Manager Nkosinathi Ndaba arrived at the property at 05:29. He identified the snake as a highly venomous Black Mamba. Ndaba captured the snake without incident.
It will be handed over to a reptile park for examination and release.
