Police in Jacobsdal in the Free State, apprehended three suspects, aged between 24 and 28, for allegations of house breaking and theft and further apprehended one suspect, aged 35, for dealing in drugs.
On 17 June 2026 at about 13:30, Jacobsdal Community Service Centre members were following up on a house breaking and theft case where food was allegedly stolen around Jacobsdal. Police followed tracks from the crime scene that led them to the possible suspects.
Upon further investigation police apprehended the trio for allegations of house breaking and theft.
As police members were busy processing the suspects, information was received about drugs. Police proceeded to the identified address at an informal settlement in Jacobsdal after obtaining a search warrant. Upon executing the search warrant, police found small plastic bags containing crystal meth hidden inside a television stand.
A 35-year-old male was apprehended for dealing in drugs.
The apprehended suspects will appear before Jacobsdal Magistrates’ Court soon facing charges of house breaking and theft as well as dealing in drugs respectively.
