A house was extensively damaged after a fire broke out on Chris Mkhize Circle in Zwelisha – KZN on Sunday, 21/06/2026.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene at approximately 17:57 following reports from members of the public that a house was on fire.
On arrival, Reaction Officers found that the interior of the home had already been gutted by the blaze. Community members were on scene attempting to extinguish the fire prior to the arrival of Emergency Services. Household items including beds, wardrobes and televisions were destroyed.
The Fire Department arrived shortly thereafter and ensured that all flames and hotspots had been extinguished before declaring the scene safe. According to family members, no one was at home at the time of the incident and they only became aware of the fire after being contacted by neighbours.
The cause of the blaze was not immediately established.
