Two (2) vehicles stolen during an armed home invasion in Oakford – KZN were recovered after an armed gang targeted a family at their residence last night (Thursday, 16/07/2026).
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre received a call for assistance at approximately 23:22. On arrival, Reaction Officers established that at approximately 21:30, five (5) suspects, four (4) of whom were armed with handguns, allegedly entered the home through an unlocked dining room door while a family of seven (7) were seated in the dining room.
The suspects held the occupants at gunpoint before demanding cellphones, cash and vehicle keys. They searched the residence before stealing seven (7) cellphones, an undisclosed amount of cash transferred via an instant money service, food items, household goods, a white Suzuki S-Presso and a maroon Chevrolet Aveo.
Tracking information led Reaction Officers, the South African Police Service (SAPS), other Security Officers and Vehicle Tracking personnel to both stolen vehicles. The white Suzuki S-Presso was recovered on a gravel road in Oakford – KZN, while the maroon Chevrolet Aveo was recovered in Buffelsdraai – KZN. Both vehicles were located locked and without visible damage. The keys were not recovered. The surrounding areas were searched, however no suspects were located.
None of the seven (7) victims sustained injuries.
