An alleged armed robbery and attempted murder suspect was apprehended in the Clayfield area of Phoenix on Monday evening following a coordinated effort with vigilant community members and security partners
KZN VIP’s Control Centre received a request for urgent assistance via a community group after residents identified a suspect believed to be linked to several serious criminal offences within the area. Response Officers were immediately dispatched to assist.
Upon arrival community members had successfully apprehended The Indian male who allegedly attempted to flee on several occasions in an effort to evade arrest.
The suspect was safely restrained at the scene until members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) arrived. He was subsequently handed over to SAPS for further investigation and processing.
Preliminary information indicates that the suspect is believed to be wanted in connection with numerous serious offences, including armed robbery, attempted murder, and other criminal activities committed within the Phoenix policing precinct. These allegations remain subject to the ongoing SAPS investigation.
