Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on De Villebois Mareuil Drive in Woodhill, Garsfontein this morning.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that two motor vehicles had collided head-on and then burst into flames.
Both drivers of the vehicles were critically injured. A woman in her early twenties were airlifted to a Netcare facility by the Netcare1 helicopter while the male driver was rushed to a nearby Netcare facility for the urgent medical care that he required.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events are unknown and will remain the subject of a police investigation.
