Heavy rain has caused havoc in the Johannesburg area since the downpour started late last night.
ER24’s reporting portal shows that there have been approximately 17 vehicle collisions attended to by paramedics in the Johannesburg and Pretoria areas since 22h00 last night and 11:00 this morning.
Most of these collisions were as a result of heavy rains, which spread across Gauteng.
The South African Weather Service issued a flooding alert in Gauteng for today saying that the rain would continue for the rest of the day and into the evening.
ER24 social media followers, earlier this morning, gave information on flooded areas they came across:
“In Sandton’s Sunninghill area, Witkoppen Road was flooded with water approximately a meter deep. The road was unsafe for use. In Fourways, Uraniuam Road was also unsafe for use due to flooding.”
