Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a drowning incident at a dam in Nellmapius between Mamelodi and Silverton in Pretoria this afternoon.
Upon their arrival on scene they found a seven-year-old boy in a critical condition after he was pulled out of the water and members of the public were busy performing CPR on the boy.
Paramedics rushed the boy to hospital but tragically he was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Exact detail surrounding the incident are still unclear and will be investigated.
