On Monday, 6 October 2025 members from Port Shepstone #SearchAndRescue, K9 Search and Rescue, Durban K9 Search and Rescue together with Durban Airwing and Ixopo police returned to Umzimkhulu River in Ixopo to resume a search for the 18-year-old male that was reported to have drowned last week Wednesday afternoon.
The body was recovered and handed over to Ixopo SAPS.
