On Friday 01 August 2025 at 10:30, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Drug Enforcement Unit Officers, arrested a forty-one (41) year-old male for dealing in illicit substances and infused products in the Kempton park area.
Officers conducted a sting operation in the Kempton park area, where information led to a shop on Monument street. Upon arrival officers found a male in the shop, where officers introduced themselves and stated the reason for their visit.
Officers requested for the cultivation and manufacturing documents (SAHPRA license of sec 22c) or supply, which the suspect failed to produce. x18medium ziplock bags of cannabis, x80 pre-rolled cannabis in plastic containers, x7 packets of edible gummies with street estimated value of twenty-five thousand rand (R25 000) were confiscated.
The suspect was arrested and detained at Kempton park police station, facing charges of dealing with illicit substances and infused products. He is expected to appear in the Kempton park Magistrate’s Court soon.
