On 29 August 2025, the Gauteng Counterfeit unit, in collaboration with brand protectors and Gauteng crime prevention wardens, conducted an operation in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni District.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 1,589 counterfeit items, including counterfeit cellphone, accessories, counterfeit toys, consumables and counterfeit clothing, with a total value of R880 210.00
The Gauteng Counterfeit unit’s efforts aim to combat intellectual property infringement and protect consumers and businesses from counterfeit goods.
