Between Monday 03 and Wednesday 05 November 2025, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Eastern Region Task Team Officers and Tracing Unit Officers, arrested ten (10) male suspects between the ages twenty-one (21) and forty-six (46) years in the Brakpan, Duduza and Putfontein areas.
While Officers were patrolling the area, they noticed two suspicious males and were stopped. The males explained that they are not South Africans, and they are still fixing their documents. The Officers arrested the suspects for not having any forms of identity and they were detained at Brakpan police station.
Meanwhile in Duduza, the Tracing Unit Officers received a tip off, about males dealing with narcotics. The intel was followed up, and one suspect was found with sixty-five (65) ziplock bags of dagga, the other suspect was found with two (2) half madrax tablets, and the last suspect was found with three (3) ziplock bags of crystal meth all with the estimated street value of three thousand five hundred and ninety Rands (R3590). All three suspects were arrested and detained at Duduza police station.
Lastly, the Tracing Unit Officers arrested three (3) wanted suspects for various crimes such as malicious damage to property, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, house breaking and theft, in Putfontein. The suspects were arrested and detained at the Putfontein police station.
The suspects are facing charges of contravention section 49(1)of the Immigration Act (Act 13 of 2002), possession of substances suspected to be narcotics, malicious damage to property, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), house breaking and theft.
