With more boots on the ground during this festive season period, police in the province continue to enforce the law and stamp down the authority of the state.
High-density operations under the command of Northern Cape SAPS senior Provincial managers, District Commissioners and station commanders have led to the apprehension and arrest of 202 persons for an array of criminal offences.
Disruptive actions executed during Operation Shanela 2 operations included roadblocks, vehicle checkpoints, stop and searches, compliance inspections to second hand dealers, recyclers, firearm dealers, formal and informal businesses and mines
6 068 persons and 3168 vehicles were stopped and searched during actions.
Detectives in the five districts continue to track, arrest wanted suspects evading court appearances, and for whom warrants of arrests have been issued.
