One suspect has been arrested following an attempted copper theft robbery at local Secondary school in Abervale, Phoenix, on Monday, 1 December 2025.
Just after 07h15 AM, KZNVIP received information via social media regarding a suspect inside the property of a local Secondary School in Abervale, Phoenix. KZNVIP Control Centre immediately dispatched all available response officers.
Upon arrival, KZNVIP Response officers entered the property and found the suspect attempting to pull out copper pipes from the rear of the premises. The suspect was swiftly apprehended on scene.
The matter and suspect was handed over to SAPS Phoenix for further processing.
