An intelligence-driven operation conducted by the #AntiGangUnit, led to the recovery of a firearm and ammunition in Elsies River on Monday, 08 December 2025.
Acting on intelligence, the team targeted a premises in Depten Avenue in Elsies River. Upon arrival, a thorough search of the premises was conducted, resulting in the discovery of an Astra .38 Special revolver and five .38 rounds stored in a cupboard in the bedroom.
A 22-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and the illegal possession of ammunition and will appear in the Goodwood Magistrates court once charged.
