On Friday 04 April 2026, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Drug Enforcement Unit Officers, arrested a thirty-three (33)-year-old male suspect for possession of and possible dealing in illicit substances in the Katlehong area.
The arrest followed information received from a concerned community member regarding a suspect allegedly selling illicit substances to underage children. Officers acted swiftly on the tip-off and intercepted the suspect at a residence on Mofakeng Street in the Goba Section.
Upon searching the suspect, Officers discovered nineteen (19) ziplock bags of CAT, with an estimated street value of two thousand rand (R2,000), as well as three hundred rand (R300) in cash, suspected to be proceeds from drug sales.
The suspect was immediately handcuffed and detained at Katlehong Police Station. He is facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substances and is expected to appear before the Magistrate’s Court soon.
