Driver Escapes Serious Injury Following Suspected Medical Episode on R102 Near Mount Moriah, Durban on Monday Afternoon
A driver and other motorists escaped serious injury following a collision believed to have been caused by a medical episode along the R102 near Mount Moriah And Duffs Road
It is alleged that the driver suffered a sudden medical attack while travelling, resulting in a loss of control of the vehicle. The vehicle veered off the roadway, descended an embankment, broke through a concrete fence, and came to rest on top of a stationary vehicle.
Concerned members of the public who witnessed the incident immediately contacted KZN VIP Emergency Services requesting assistance. Medical personnel, along with additional emergency services, were promptly dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the driver was assessed and found to have sustained minor injuries. No other injuries were reported among pedestrians or motorists in the vicinity.
The vehicle that was struck was stationary and parked at the time of the incident, with no occupants inside. The scene was cleared shortly thereafter.
