Ongoing crime prevention operations were conducted by Durban North SAPS in conjunction with KZN VIP and multiple other security stakeholders within the Durban North, La Lucia, and Umhlanga areas.
This follows an increase in petty crimes and public complaints reported within these areas in recent weeks. Joint operations were subsequently initiated in an effort to proactively combat criminal activity and improve safety within identified hotspot areas.
During the operation, teams embarked on foot patrols through the mangroves, bush areas, and various hotspot locations identified by SAPS. Multiple informal structures situated within these areas were searched as part of the ongoing operation.
Several individuals were removed from the area after illegal substances were allegedly discovered during the searches. Law enforcement agencies continue to maintain a strong presence within the affected areas as part of ongoing crime prevention initiatives.
