Members of Worcester SAPS responded to complaints of shooting in the Roodewal area on Saturday afternoon, and upon arrival on the scene, members of the community pointed the police members in the direction the suspect who was running. The members gave chase and the suspect threw a firearm into a nearby informal dwelling. The firearm was recovered and the suspect was apprehended. The adult male suspect was arrested for the possession of a homemade firearm.
In an unrelated matter, members of Ceres SAPS followed up information about two suspects who are in possession of firearms in Masikhule Street, Nduli. A description of the suspects was given and the members searched for the suspect. The suspects fitting the description were apprehended and a homemade firearm with ammunition was found in their possession.
Once charged, the suspects will appear in the Worcester and Ceres Magistrates’ courts.
