The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg Precinct Officers, in conjunction with South African Police Services (SAPS) Crystal Park Detectives, arrested a twenty-nine (29) year-old male suspect, for pointing a firearm and intimidation, in the Crystal Park area.
The complainant alleges that he was driving on Birch Road in Crystal Park, when he approached a corner to turn right, a motorcycle following him bumped into his vehicle. The complainant pulled over to the side of the road and remained in his vehicle.
The complainant further alleges that the motorcyclist approached him while he was still in the vehicle, pointed a brownish firearm at him, and used the firearm to break the right-side mirror of the vehicle.
The complainant then drove off. The motorcyclist followed him and stopped him again. The suspect allegedly demanded the complainant’s employer’s cell phone number after noticing the vehicle was marked as a company vehicle. After the complainant provided the number, the suspect allegedly continued to threaten him, saying he would kill him.
The complainant subsequently opened a case of pointing of a firearm and intimidation at Crystal Park Police Station.
Acting on information, law Enforcers traced and found the suspect. He was searched and a firearm, was found in his possession, before he was arrested and detained, at the Crystal Park police station. He is expected to appear before the relevant Magistrate’s Court soon.
