A woman was rescued by her friend after she fell into a manhole on the corners of Anderson and Alexander Street in Johannesburg CBD this morning.
It is believed that while they were walking, the woman stepped onto the steel lid of the manhole when the lid gave way.
She then fell about 2 meters into the hole when her friend came to the rescue.
ER24 Paramedics were dispatched to the scene where they found the woman had already been removed and sustained a possible fracture with some other minor injuries.
She was transported to the Charlotte Maxeke hospital in Johannesburg for further treatment.
