On Wednesday, 24 December 2025, a Honeydew Community Policing Forum (CPF) member observed individuals behaving suspiciously near a manhole in Weltevredenpark, an area previously affected by cable theft. The CPF member drove past the location and immediately requested backup via the Honeydew Emergency Group, which includes SAPS members and private security companies.
Beagle Watch Armed Response R3 responded promptly and, together with the CPF member, successfully apprehended two suspects. Unfortunately, one additional suspect managed to flee the scene.
Further support was quickly provided by multiple Honeydew SAPS members, GP Tactical, and 6th Sense, ensuring the situation was safely managed and the detained suspects were secured.
This incident represents another successful collaborative effort within the Honeydew Policing Precinct.
