Members of Public Order Policing and Law Enforcement arrested a 25-year-old male for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on Saturday morning, 28 March 2026.
The members were conducting crime prevention duties in Duinefontein Road, Manenberg when they saw the suspect with a firearm in his hand. They chased after the suspect and apprehended him. They confiscated a 9mm pistol with ammunition which the suspect threw on the roof of one of the houses.
He face charges for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and will in the Athlone Magistrates’ court once charged. #DrugsOffTheStreets #GunsOffTheStreets
