A multi-disciplinary operation conducted by members of Tzaneen Visible Policing led to the arrest of a male suspect for dealing in illicit cigarettes and possession of an unlicensed firearm in Aqua Park, Tzaneen, on Tuesday, 21 April 2026.
During the operation, police searched a residential premises where they discovered 228 cartons of illicit cigarettes branded Royal Express, with an estimated value of approximately R25 000-00.
Members also seized a 9mm Norinco pistol, eight rounds of 9mm ammunition, and an amount of R10 850-00 in cash.
The suspect was immediately arrested at the scene. He is expected to appear before the Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 22 April 2026.
The Police investigations are ongoing.
