Eleven suspects aged between 27 and 46 have been arrested at a fuel plant in Meyerton by members of the Hawks’ Tactical Operations Management Section (TOMS) this morning for alleged fuel theft.
According to the Hawks, members received intelligence regarding a planned robbery at the fuel plant. The information was operationalised and the premises were placed under surveillance.
During the operation, two tankers were allegedly observed entering the premises, which preliminary investigations revealed had been placed under administration.
Initial investigations further suggest that security personnel guarding the premises may have allegedly been working together with the suspects arrested at the scene.
