In a significant step for regional aviation cooperation, Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) SOC Ltd and the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana (CAAB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Presidential Summit of the 6th South Africa-Botswana Bi-National Commission (BNC).
The agreement cements a long-standing partnership between the two organisations, built on aviation training, technology exchange, and collaborative initiatives that have consistently advanced air traffic management and safety across Southern Africa.
The 6th BNC, held from 18 to 21 May 2026, provided a platform for senior officials, ministers, and heads of state to strengthen bilateral ties.
ATNS team, led by Chief Customer Solutions Officer, Mr Sandile Hogana and Business Development Manager, Ms Keletso Ngobeni, presented the status of commercial engagements with Botswana counterparts during the Senior Officials Meeting and met with the newly appointed CEO of CAAB, Captain Thuto Toise.
The Presidential Summit culminated in the signing of the MoU, symbolising a renewed commitment to aviation excellence.
This milestone agreement is a strategic commitment to expand joint training, deepen technological collaboration in air traffic management and strengthen regional integration in aviation safety and efficiency.
