A man was killed and another was left with multiple injuries after two vehicles collided head on with each other on the R26 approximately seven kilometres outside of Clocolan towards Ladybrand.
Shortly after 4pm paramedics arrived on the scene where they found local paramedics busy performing CPR on one of the patients. Sadly, the man later passed away on scene. Another patient was found with critical injuries and treated on the scene.
At this stage it is not clear if the two drivers were flung from their vehicles during the collision or if they were removed by bystanders on the scene. Both were found near the vehicles.
The critically injured man, believed to be in his late thirties, was rushed off to Clocolan Provincial hospital for further treatment. He was later transferred to Bethlehem Provincial hospital for further care.
The exact cause of the incident is not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene.
