In celebration of Women’s Month, the Gauteng “Women in Blue” have made a significant impact through Operation Basadi, arresting over 300 suspects across the province since the beginning of August 2024.
Through collaborative efforts with other law enforcement agencies, women in uniform conducted roadblocks in all districts, including Ekurhuleni , Sedibeng, Tshwane, West Rand, and Johannesburg, targeting various offences such as: Illegal immigration, Drug-related crimes, Illicit cigarettes, Second-Hand Goods Act violations, Possession of precious metal, Possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, Non-compliance with liquor regulations and Employing illegal immigrants
Operation Basadi highlights the dedication and vital role of women in law enforcement in maintaining law and order, ensuring community safety and security.
